The UK Government is looking to hire a “Twitter Czar” – and they’re taking “digital” so seriously they’re offering a $232,000 annual salary. Although the title is officially Executive Director of Digital, it clearly shows where the world is headed.  You can read more about this story here.

If a brand isn’t having high level discussions about a social media and technology strategy, it’s not too late.  But each day, week or month that passes, is another when a brand could get lapped by its competitors.

Every brand can have a Facebook page or Twitter feed.  Even our grandparents have them.  But the brands that actually know how to use them effectively and have a solid growth strategy – featuring consumer control, meaningful interaction and benefits, and a clear, desired end result  – will be the winners.
